    How is this different than standing in this position and using a set of dumbbells to do progressive overload?

      Because you're using your core to avoid rotating, not just holding weight out in front of yourself. If you twist your body while holding weight out front, you could very well injure your back.

    I noticed that I was leaning forward after spending 10 years as a stay at home mom. I habitually leaned forward looking for toys on the floor and pets underfoot. Now that I'm 69, I am losing flexibility in my hip joints, just like you said. Thanks for the reminder and the exercises!

    I just turned 80 and am in excellent health with good mobility. Nevertheless, for the first time in my life I have begun (in earnest) to pay attention to my balance and stability and to the health of my feet, all aspects of my health that I have more or less taken for granted previously, all of which have diminished perceptibly over the past 5 years as well. And just as I am getting stoked to act on this new health awareness I accidentally bumble into your excellent videos, which I have been gobbling up. I leave in September for an ambitious trip to Europe that will involve, as always, much walking. My goal is to integrate these balance exercises into my daily routine so that when September rolls around I am at a much improved level of balance and stability, not to mention safety. Thank you for these exercises, Will.

    I discovered your channel a few months ago. I am 75. I have loved so many of your exercises and they do help. However, I just don't see how I could possibly do all of the exercises I need to do 3 times a day. Knees, blood pressure, lower back, core, glutes, etc. What's the best way to manage the execution of all these movements?

      You don't need to do any exercise three times a day! Once is enough. Every exercise twice a week. And you can rotate. Some Mondays and Wednesdays, some Tuesdays and Thursdays. And you're done

    I am 74 and when bare feet my left big toe just drop and I trip on it! I cannot lift my foot from the ground as you sow in your video. Not to bad when I have shoes on ! Please help me?

    Fantastic! The hip flexor stretch has been a game-changer for me over the past couple of years. I have very tight hips with IT band and piriformis issues, and this helps with all of these areas. This is the BEST channel! I'm 51 and loving it! Thank you!!!

    Thank you for your advice. Been suffering from severe leg cramps at night, my inner thigh, calves, toes...really bad. I sleep with bed socks now, that covers my calves too, and of course the pillow between my knees, (this I have been doing for several years now). Will try the exercises and electrolytes too.

    Marvelous!... I am 76 and I simply cannot get from the floor, period. If I have a steady point of support ahead of me, I may be able to grab it and get up - but that favorable condition is not available always, so I am looking forward to follow your method. THANK YOU!     80 Found your exercises last night and did them before bed. This morning I did the exercises slowly and deliberately following your video. A different exercise, bending the leg over the opposite knee and pressing on the knee, seemed to help the sciatic nerve yesterday, but this morning your exercises seemed to exacerbate the lower back pain, which I’m told is due to spinal stenosis, arthritis, L4, L5 whatever. I thought I was following your example very carefully. I must be doing something wrong or I’m just old. I can reach down to the floor, which I did very slowly. Hmmm?

    I started doing this then added to it. So, with the band on the right side I push my arms forward, like he shows, then turn at the waist to my left. Great exercise

    I am 69 old female with severe rheumatoid arthritis and neuropathy, I lost 80% of my balance. I can walk on hard surfaces but not on grass, so I can’t do my yard work, any suggestions? Many thanks for posting all these helpful videos.

    I have a familial hip dysplasia. My daughter had a hip replacement at 40. My son, aunt and father also had hip problems. I am grateful to have found this site, as I also lean forward when walking!
